Keanu Reeves is going berserk.

Well, kind of. The actor is co-writing a 12-issue comic book series called BRZRKR for Boom! Studios, USA Today reports.

The publisher describes the comic books as “a brutally violent new series about one immortal warrior’s fight through the ages.”

“The man known only as Berzerker is half-mortal and half-God, cursed and compelled to violence…even at the sacrifice of his sanity,” the publisher said. “But after wandering the world for centuries, Berzerker may have finally found a refuge—working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else.”

The comic books will be co-written with Matt Kindt and feature art by Alessandro Vitti.

Reeves called his new gig “a dream come true.”

“I have loved comics since I was a young kid and they have been a significant influence on me artistically,” said the Point Break star.

Boom! Studios editor in chief Matt Gagnon praised his newest writer, telling USA Today, “Exceptional creative instincts, deep reservoirs of wisdom on story, the ability to consistently tap into the raw emotion of a moment, relentless commitment to quality and the task at hand—it’s all this and much more that make Keanu an inspiring force.”

The first issue of BRZRKR is slated for publication on Oct. 7.
